Zest_Adapter_XBee
Overview
The Zest_Adapter_XBee is an electronics development board for 6TRON open source platform. It offers 6TRON users the possibility to connect the full range of XBee and mDot radio modules to the 6TRON platform.
The board provides an interface between the 6TRON platform and a XBee or a mDot radio module. Onboard LEDs help to quickly check the status of the RF module (module On, Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), Association OK)
A 6-pin UART header permits direct full duplex communication with the XBee module. The header can also be used to power the board (3.3V version only) to obtain a standalone solution. Most XBee modules can also be reprogrammed through the UART interface. A JTAG connector is available to program and debug mDot modules.
The board includes a TPS62172 step-down converter (buck) from Texas Instruments to provide a low-noise regulated 3.3V/250mA supply voltage.
When using ZigBee or DigiMesh modules, the commissioning buttons helps deploy the devices in a network.
