Zest_Interface_RS232

Overview

The Zest_Interface_RS232 is an electronics development board for 6TRON opensource platform based on MAX3227 transceiver from Texas instrument.

The MAX3227 is a full-Duplex RS-232 transceiver with 1 Driver and 1 Receiver. It provides an electrical interface between an asynchronous communication controller and the serial-port connector.

The chip includes an Auto-Powerdown feature when the interface cable is disconnected or the distant transceiver is inactive for 30s.

The board operates at data-signaling rates up to 1 Mbit/s in normal operating mode.

The Zest_Interface_RS232 can be used as a RS232 interface to devices, systems and sensors communicating with low power over a long distance.

The Zest_Radio_RS232 provides a demo example developed using MBed Os. The board can run on Zest Core development boards.
